Crew and deck personnel

You can fill in and submit our registration form here. In any case, please send us your inland navigation booklet page 1 (with the photo page), page with the Rhine qualifications and any other relevant certificates.

Not necessarily. Although most of our vacancies require experience in inland navigation, we also have a number of vacancies for beginners. These offers are for trainees following a course to become a sailor. Thanks to our cooperation with the inland navigation school in the Netherlands, we help the trainees to register for the course and arrange the paperwork and exam. For more information about the course itself, the exam and the requirements you can contact us by phone or e-mail.

All our employees work in the Netherlands or Cyprus under a Dutch or Cypriot contract. All social insurances and health insurances are paid in either one of these countries, depending on the contract.

Yes, for employees with a Dutch contract we have a Dutch health insurance with HollandZorg and supplementary pension through StiPP pension fund. The insurance covers the costs of health care at work and can be extended while you are at home. For employees with a Cypriot contract we have a health insurance and pension plan in Cyprus.

Yes, on top of the health insurance, ACM offers an additional accident insurance for all employees with a Dutch contract. In addition to a benefit in case of (permanent) disability, for example in case of loss of partial functionality of a finger or loss of limbs, a benefit will be paid. In case of complete permanent disability, the benefit is equal to two annual salaries. In the event of death (for heirs), one annual salary will be paid.

Yes, we can arrange the transport in liaison with you. Depending on the vessel’s location we could opt for our company bus, public transport, a rental car, private transport,or a taxi. Together we will find a way.

No, languages English and/or German are sufficient. The level of language proficiency should at least be communicative, with a good knowledge of work-related terms. However, knowing the Dutch language is a big plus.

Self-employed relievers

Yes, that's possible. You can send us a receipt for the services provided that you regard as income from other activities under income tax.

Based on the registration form you submitted, we will start up your candidature and send you all required information. We would also like to invite you to our office for an interview and to discuss any further questions in person.

We can certainly help you with this. There is sufficient in-house expertise to get you started.

You are welcome to start for us during your leave periods. If your current employer has no objections, we can prepare your registration immediately.

In general our procedure prescribes payment within two weeks. An urgent payment within 1 or 2 days is also a possibility.

Our prices are not listed on the website. Price is depending on many factors which makes it impossible to publish a clear price overview. Please send us a request and we will prepare an offer for you asap.

It usually takes between a few hours to max 24 hours for our personnel to arrive on board. We are in direct contact with few thousands sailors and skippers from Europe. We can help you with your payrolling. All you have to do is provide us with the salaries you like to pay to your employees. Our financial expert will calculate monthly costs for you. When using our payrolling services, we also take care of paying taxes, insurances and even transport (if needed) of your personnel. At the end of the month you simply receive a monthly invoice from ACM.

When hiring crew for a Dutch inland vessel, you can use the a G-account from the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. This is a special, blocked account with which ACM can only pay the VAT and payroll tax to the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. Read more about the G-account on our Payrolling page here.
